Word From Pastor

We have been enjoying some time away from the island in recent weeks, and Cindy and I have been blessed with rest, time with family, and with the growing anticipation of returning to our church family in Cayman.  Yes, we are missing all of you, and we look forward to this coming weekend when we will join you in worship.  Thank you for your love and support and for praying for us during these weeks apart.

I want to express my deep gratitude to Calvin Bromfield for his ministry in the Word during my absence.  I know that you have appreciated his preaching the past two Sundays, and I hope you have expressed that to him.  Also, I have heard of the good ministry of our first pastor, Lambert Mills, as he ministered on the last Sunday of July in his first return to the pulpit since leaving in 2008.  We are blessed as a congregation to have had these men who love the Lord and who have been faithful among us to minister God's Word to us!

Looking ahead, the weeks before us will mark a time of preparation for a return to a full program of ministry and discipleship.  Our Leadership Council and Staff will be gathering for a Strategic Planning and Prayer Retreat on August 26-27.  Coming out of that weekend, we will be sharing with the congregation the unfolding vision and plans God has for us.  The growth and blessings that have marked this congregation for the previous five plus years have been but the prelude to the coming years of discipleship, ministry, and evangelism that are sure to mark us as we walk by faith in step with the Spirit of God.

 I am reminded of the words of Jesus to the Church at Philadelphia:  "See, I have placed before you an open door!" (Revelation 3:8b)  Let's step together through that door of opportunity that our Heavenly Father is giving us to proclaim the Gospel in Savannah and throughout the Cayman Islands!
